EMILY PIKE STEWART is a Grammy and Audie Award-winning creator of audiobooks with extensive experience across the spoken word industry.
Born and raised in Louisville, KY, in high school Emily began volunteering as an audiobook narrator and director at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (now Learning Ally). She earned a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and worked in theater before returning to the world of audiobooks as studio manager at CDM Sound Studios, Inc. in New York City. There she gained skills in session engineering and post-production and worked as an editor on Grammy Award winner Earth: The Audio Book by Jon Stewart.
Emily later began offering narration and post-production services as GoBunny Media, which has since evolved into Empyrean Productions, Inc. specializing in audiobook and other digital media production. She has worked on hundreds of audiobooks including many award-winning projects with authors and narrators such as Dolly Parton, Malala Yousafzai, David Foster Wallace, Nora Roberts, Donald Rumsfeld, Joyce Carol Oates, Kyle Petty, and more.
Emily currently resides in Louisville, KY, while working as an audiobook producer for Sounds True Publishing in Louisville, CO. In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with husband Chris (who as a blind avid reader can always be found with a good audiobook), being a company member of Looking for Lilith Theatre Company, singing as cantor at her church, and gleefully tackling a perpetual list of DIY home improvement, gardening, or craft ideas.
Speaking of which... Emily is currently in the thick of converting a cargo van into a live-in mobile recording studio as she spearheads upcoming audiobook community-wide project The Nomad Narrator! This long-form audio adventure aims to feature the studios and stories of narrators across America while recording audiobooks on the road. Follow along by subscribing for updates as this one-of-a-kind project gets rolling!
