EMILY PIKE STEWART is a Grammy and Audie Award-winning creator of audiobooks with nearly 20 years' experience across multiple facets of the industry.
Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Emily's path to a career in voiceover began in high school as a volunteer audiobook narrator and director at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (now Learning Ally). She went on to earn a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and performed in theater productions in New York City and regionally before returning to the world of audiobooks.
In 2009, Emily became studio manager at CDM Sound Studios, Inc. in New York City. There she gained experience in session engineering and post-production and worked as an editor on 2011 Grammy Award winner Jon Stewart's Earth: The Audio Book. In 2011, she began offering narration and post-production services as GoBunny Media. Emily has worked on hundreds of audiobooks including many award-winning titles and projects by authors and narrators such as Dolly Parton, Malala Yousafzai, David Foster Wallace, Carly Simon, Nora Roberts, Donald Rumsfeld, Robyn Carr, and more.
Emily currently resides in Louisville with her husband Chris, who as a blind avid reader can always be found with a good audiobook. She is founder and president of Empyrean Productions, Inc. specializing in audiobook and digital media production and is a company member of Looking for Lilith Theater Company. In her spare time she enjoys serving on the steering committee for the Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange, singing as cantor at St. Agnes Catholic Church, devouring podcasts and nonfiction audiobooks like candy, teaching yoga, gardening, traveling, and gleefully tackling a perpetual list of new DIY home improvement or craft ideas.
Speaking of which... Emily is currently in the thick of converting a cargo van into a live-in mobile recording studio as she spearheads upcoming audiobook community-wide podcast + blog project The Nomad Narrator! This long-form audio adventure aims to feature the studios and stories of narrators across America while recording a book in every state. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram as Emily builds the mobile studio through April and May 2022.
